Every Second One Is in Question: Half of Migrant Children in Sverdlovsk Region Live Illegally

The official explained that the total number of underage foreign citizens registered in the Sverdlovsk region and Yekaterinburg reaches ten thousand. Thus, every second migrant child in the region is there in violation of the law. Yakusheva paid special attention to the legal status of minors. She emphasized that children listed in the registry of monitored individuals due to their parents' violations of the migration regime have no legal grounds for further residence in the region. This fact raises the question for authorities of applying administrative measures against these families, up to and including deportation.
